Royal Star is comin’ to town—downtown Honolulu, that is! This holiday season, Royal Star Hawaii is partnering with our friends at Star of Honolulu to drive past the Honolulu City Lights. Anyone who books Waikiki transportation to and from a Star of Honolulu sunset dinner cruise will be treated to a festive view of Oahu’s merriest holiday display—at no additional charge!
The Honolulu City Lights is a beloved tradition in Hawaii that dates back to 1985, when Mayor Frank Fasi hosted the inaugural event. In its first year, Honolulu City Lights featured elaborate light displays, a holiday concert and the lighting of a 50-foot Norfolk Pine. Over the years, many welcome additions joined the holiday lineup, including the 21-foot tall “Shaka Santa” in 1989 and the patriotic American Flag display in 2001. Presented by the City and County of Honolulu in partnership with the Friends of Honolulu City Lights, this celebrated local tradition now attracts visitors from around the world.
